      Paul,
I have some pictures posted on the Forum; can they be moved to the Swistak photos page please?
      I have more photos too.
      Thank you,

        Hi Katie and others reading…
My dad was Chet Swistak from Holyoke Massachusetts. I did post a couple pictures but I have more. It was hard to post because the file size was small, but I’ll try again. My dad was in C company (and Headquarters).

Plane wreck photo must be uploaded again… it has 019 on back and letters on tail are visible. The medic and tents photo I believe was sent home to in a letter because my dad wrote on back- ‘this is our medic or pill pushers as we call them. These are the tents we lived in when we lived outside’. The photo with four men in the snow has no markings on back. The “three beers” photo has no markings on the back. It would be easy to find those guys in the unit photo! Firing position has no markings on the back. I named #18 officer because I thought the two guys in the photo looked like officers. No markings on back.

            Paul,
The beach picture has 009 on back and is printed on Gevaez RIDAX paper and the swistak 9 picture with the group of 13 guys ( one reading Yank magazine) has the number 223T on back. The trees and landscape look a bit roughed up in that one. The Nazi banner photo and ammo boxes photos are blank on the back. There is quite an assortment of weapons piled up on the sand in the beach photo: to the left I believe I see bayonets pointing up- and in the right foreground it looks like a couple shotguns laying there by the batteries. Some Garands? Some Springfields? I went to technical college in Springfield where the Garands were made.
In the next four pictures uploaded the plane wreck has 019 on the back- the letters are visible on the tail of the plane
