Hello Folks, & Especially the Sites Administrator. For many years now I have been documenting the acquisition of an ‘War Trophy’ [ aka War Souvenir ] brought home from Austria by Section Sergeant Roger W. Parent, 31260196, of Battery B, 733rd F.A. Battalion. Fortunately I had an opportunity to conduct a Telephone Interview with him prior to his passing away, & I am pleased to report that after some assurances that my intentions were pure & historical in nature, he readily provided me with all the circumstances surrounding his acquiring this item. If anyone here is interested in learning the details surrounding this, please advise & I was gladly submit an overview of Roger’s War Trophy ? However, my primary reason for this Post pertains to my determining exactly, or to best of our knowledge where in Austria Battery B was Billited during the period of May, June, & July of 1945 ? According to Rogers recollection, he obtained the item in the Town / Village of Au, Austria which based upon my research, must have been somewhere within the 2 assigned U.S. Army Areas of Occupation, which were the Provinces of Salzburg & Upper Austria. Roger all revealed that he acquired it while either delivering, & or receiving assorted Supplies at some U.S. Medical Facility, almost assuredly a Hospital or some sort, as he observed wounded & or injured Enemy Personnel present as P.O.W.’s. I would very much love to determine exactly where this Au was, & to learn which particular Medical Unit / Facility he had been visiting that day ? If anyone happens to have any information they feel may prove useful in my search, I would deeply appreciate hearing from them !! As anyone who has also delved into the 733rd during WW2 they too will understand just how difficult it can be in locating any detailed data, & especially so if they’re seeking to learn about the Unit’s travels during the summer of 1945. I look forward to ‘hopefully’ hearing something helpful in my search, & THANK anyone & everyone who may kindly reply to my Query.

Best regards, Dom Pastore Jr. ( ‘dpast32’ )
